Under Kristen's leadership, Discover Long Island-- the region’s only accredited destination marketing organization-- and the region have achieved remarkable milestones, including, but not limited to - record breaking tourist spending in 2022, project development plans for Long Island’s first ever convention center, the development of Long Island’s first in-destination guide app, the launch of the award-winning lifestyle podcast Long Island Tea, and more. Kristen's dedication extends beyond Discover Long Island, as she is actively involved in several other organizations as well. Reynold’s serves on the Board of Directors for Destinations International, as the incoming president of the New York State Destination Marketing Organizations, and as a Board Member of the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association. She is frequently being recognized for her efforts and has been named to the Top 50 Women in Business on Long Island’s Hall of Fame, Top 100 Power List of Long Island, City & State’s Top 100 Long Island Influencers, and most recently was honored by Long Island Business News on its Most Influential Long Islanders list. Backing the movement to build a large conference center on Long Island is imperative to keep building up the tourism industry on Long Island. Working with local government officials, Kristen saw the trends in other destinations with a flourishing tourism economy, and a common denominator was a convention center for business events. Having businesses travel here for seminars, trade shows, conferences, keynote speakers, and other events will bring even more tourist money into the Long Island economy, benefitting those who live here. The achievement of the development of the interactive mobile app is a gamechanger for people visiting the region, and it is expected that other destinations will follow suit. The app assists visitor with booking reservations and activities locally and in real-time. It is comparable to a hotel concierge except it fits in your pocket. Kristen has served as an exceptional leader displaying a personal caliber of confidence, optimism, ambition and integrity, not only just at the organization but across Long Island and nationally.
