Context Europe is a boutique women-owned sustainability consultancy committed to helping businesses do better. They partner with organizations worldwide to deliver authentic and impactful sustainability strategies, reports, and communications. Their small team is passionate about working towards a sustainable and regenerative future. Context began in 1997 when their founders realized there was more companies could be doing and communicating about sustainability. Since then, Context has served hundreds of clients worldwide. They have weathered recessions, pandemics and the constantly evolving sustainability landscape as they continue to pursue they original purpose: to help companies do better business. Their work with clients : Their biggest impact on sustainability is through they client work. They help companies identify and assess their most important (material) sustainability impacts and develop effective strategies to manage them. They also support companies to communicate their sustainability efforts clearly and transparently — without greenwashing. This includes developing sustainability reports and wider communications. In 2024, they worked with 16 clients across 11 countries — including the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Kuwait, the UAE and the US. Many of they clients operate internationally and they take pride in helping them address global and region-specific challenges and regulations. Employee and operational impact: As they spend their days advising clients on sustainability, they are also careful to ensure they operate their own business in a sustainable way. They prioritize environmental initiatives like conducting a carbon footprint assessment to identify effective decarbonization levers and offering extra holiday days for employees who choose train travel over flying. Since Context Europe became fully women-owned and led in 2022, they team has tripled in size. They focus on creating an inclusive and productive workplace where people enjoy working and can grow professionally and personally. This includes providing annual wellness and volunteering days, encouraging professional development through regular training and mentoring, and embracing flexible working (both in terms of when and where employees work).
