Best Learning & Development Strategy

Krista manages Learning and Development for Cloudticity. She rolled out a company-wide learning management system (LMS) that integrates with their HRIS. She defined the business requirements for the LMS, researched various vendors, created a matrix of capabilities and prices, and recommended a vendor. Once chosen, Krista led the vendor onboarding process, working through the integration challenges. Krista has curated their company training, both required compliance training, and optional training on topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion, how to give effective feedback, and change management tools. One of Krista’s biggest accomplishments was rolling out their Cloudticity healthcare training program. Krista successfully managed a large-scale company project to develop and roll out industry-specific training for healthcare policies, compliance frameworks, technical standards, security and privacy concerns, and go-to-market opportunities. She led all aspects of the project, from brainstorming potential training topics to developing training and organizing the topics into training modules. When Krista began researching the available training, she quickly determined that healthcare-specific training around topics such as FISMA and HL7 v2 was hard to find. She pivoted to developing the training in-house, creating a template that included a description of the subject, its history, current status, how it impacts Cloudticity and their clients, and a learning quiz. She then assigned bite-sized training topics to each person within their company, providing support throughout the training development process. Krista then designed and created training modules, grouping the training topics into modules. This training was rolled out over six months and is now required for all new hires. The result of Krista's project is a strategic asset for Cloudticity. One of their competitive differentiators is the ability to understand the healthcare landscape and the specific challenges their clients face. While they can hire individuals with strong technical skills, combining strong cloud experience with deep healthcare knowledge is much more complicated. Due to Krista's efforts, they are better prepared to develop their people with solid industry knowledge and the specific healthcare language that resonates with their clients.
