We built a successful employee engagement plan and continue to develop it. Our goal was to create inclusivity and equity within our company of diverse, remote employees and contractors in over 20 countries. To focus on mindfulness and being active, we instituted company yoga. These restorative sessions give workers a break during working hours. We also offer monthly Skribbl games to encourage camaraderie between teams, as our participants can message each other to guess the drawing. CertiK offers a system called Coffeebot which matches randomized workers with others and they virtually talk about themselves and interests. This mirrors “water cooler” conversation to encourage teambuilding and communication. The HR team also creates monthly events to further engage team members. We’ve hosted a step challenge (with alternate events for those differently abled); pet day (showcasing our furry friends); trivia; Skribbl tournaments; Halloween costume contests, wellness events, among other topics. This has fostered collaboration and communication between teams. Additionally, we host company trainings on a variety of topics. Some are manager focused (performance reviews, coaching/mentoring, interviewing, discipline and documentation, etc.) and others are focused on a general audience (Talent Acquisition, communication, teambuilding, ethics, harassment, etc.) for the whole company. These sessions are to provide additional information to our leaders and employees who want to grow in the company. We want to properly train our leaders so they can provide great internal service to their workers and other teams. We had a successful all-company meet-up in New York City in October 2022. This entire event was planned by the HR team and we coordinated workers flying in from multiple countries. We had a robot building competition, team breakout sessions, a boat cruise around New York City and physical and mental team games. The purpose of the event was to meet each other in-person, to build camaraderie and to exchanges ideas. We are planning similar events in the future, including smaller team gatherings to continue to build culture and professional working relationships.
