Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Cross-Border E-Commerce

Diane Wang is the Founder, Chairperson and CEO of DHGATE Group and its e-commerce platform DHgate.com, one of the world’s largest cross-border B2B e-commerce marketplaces. Under Diane’s leadership, DHGATE Group champions fair world trade, diversity, and creativity by connecting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) globally with high-quality products. With a strategic focus to accelerate digital transformation for MSMEs and empower underserved communities such as women and young people who traditionally have less access to entrepreneurial opportunities, Diane has been instrumental in advancing concrete ideas to empower women and bringing about significant change in workplaces. As of December 31, 2023, DHgate serves over 77 million buyers and 2.6 million sellers across 225 countries and regions. In late 2020, Diane launched social commerce platform MyyShop, which provides digitization tools and support to empower creators, influencers, and individual entrepreneurs to effortlessly monetize their influence on social platforms. MyyShop supports a large community of entrepreneurs by providing them with training and market access opportunities, as well as digital tools to quickly identify in-demand products, leverage AI-powered product recommendations, build a customized online shopfront, and earn commission through sales. Creators can also efficiently create their own personalized product lines using MyyShop’s centralized platform and verified supplier network. In 2023 and 2024, Diane expanded MyyShop’s reach in the US to help female American influencers connect on a global level. Also in 2023, Diane launched The Inner Mountain Foundation, a women’s empowerment community that provides access to various entrepreneurial resources, training, information and funding for women-owned businesses. The Foundation co-hosted the 2023 APEC Women Connect Her Power Entrepreneurship Competition together with APEC Women Connect, DHGATE Group and MyyShop. Over the past decade, Diane has been a trailblazer for women's empowerment. Passionate about driving the digital inclusion agenda for MSMEs and women, she collaborates with international organizations. To name a few, she is the founder of APEC Women Connect, an APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) member, Chair of APEC Women Leadership Summit, BRICS Women’s Business Alliance Chinese National Chapter member, and Chair of 50 Cross-border E-Commerce Leaders in China.
